Privacy before product data.
Last updated 18 July 2026. This notice describes the current FaultTrail content and product-in-development site, including its retained authentication and analytics infrastructure. It will be updated before support-ticket submissions, product integrations, or operational product features are introduced.
What FaultTrail collects
FaultTrail does not currently provide customer uploads, support-ticket submissions, trace ingestion, or third-party product integrations. If you use the sign-in control, the authentication service may process account identifiers, contact details, session information, and authentication events.
FaultTrail uses PostHog for product analytics. Depending on the site configuration and your browser, this may include page views, navigation events, device and browser information, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction data. It is used to understand and improve the site, not for advertising.
If you email FaultTrail, the information you choose to include - such as your name, email address, organisation, and message - will be received and retained as needed to respond and keep an appropriate record of the conversation.
An early-pilot email should describe your product, workflow, systems, and approximate incident volume. Signing in may identify you to FaultTrail, but it does not join a mailing list, submit a pilot application, or authorise access to customer systems.
Routine website data
The hosting and network services used to deliver the site may process routine request information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security or error logs. This information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.
Cookies and local storage
The site and its authentication and analytics services may use cookies or browser storage for sign-in sessions, security, analytics, and other service preferences. FaultTrail does not currently use advertising cookies.
Sharing and overseas processing
Information may be processed by service providers used for website hosting, network delivery, authentication, application data, analytics, error monitoring, security, and email. These include the retained Clerk, Convex, PostHog, and Sentry infrastructure when the relevant service is enabled. Providers may operate infrastructure outside Australia. FaultTrail does not sell personal information.
Your choices
You may ask what personal information FaultTrail holds about you, request a correction or deletion where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern by emailing faulttrail@gmail.com. Reasonable requests will be reviewed and answered.
Do not send confidential customer data
Do not email secrets, credentials, personal data, or confidential customer tickets or trace content. Anonymise examples before sharing them.
